Buffalo Marine Services was experiencing ongoing flooring issues aboard the M/V San Austin. The issues were present throughout the entire boat, including the galley, wheel house, cabins, office, bathrooms, passageways and stairs.
The root cause appeared to be related to the previous system installation and inadequate material selection. |

The marine flooring system throughout the entire interior
of M/V San Austin was upgraded, including the galley, wheel house, cabins, office, bathrooms, passageways and stairs.
Key Considerations for the project included the following:

Impact Resistant: The PolySpec system chosen needed to be highly durable and impact resistant while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Maintenance/Safety: The new seamless floor with a rolled cove base created a bathtub affect for ease of maintenance.
Bonding: The new system needed to have tenacious bonding capabilities, as the previous flooring system was continually delaminating from the steel deck.
